I'm a redhead....

So I let the blue go for now. You know me.. I switch up a lot and I love it! I used my favorite line of all times once again.. MANIC PANIC.

What did I do... I started with faded blue..

I washed my hair with Coco curls shampoo hydrating shampoo. Then I put the Coco curls revitalizing conditioner on my none colored hair and Manic Panic Rock 'N' Roll Red
on my blue/colored area in the front. I than sat under the hair steamer. Yes hair steamer... Now let me let you in on a secret, hair steamers are awesome for your face, skin, scalp and hair. Also with processing color. BUT with color make sure you have protection because after awhile some red dripped on my..which was fine because I had on old clothing. Anyhow. Afterwards, I let my hair cool, then rinsed in warm to cool water.
I sprayed Oyin Handmade Juices & Berries Leave in, then I used the Koils by Nature Shealoe Leave in and the Herbal Peppermint Gel for setting/none frizz. And let air dry...

And lastly, I styled to a upward top like ponytail with my PuffCuff (which is an awesome accessory for those with thick hair, google it) .

Now moving along, I have stated before that I have challenged myself starting November 2014 to NOT cut my hair.. and guess what.. I haven't... the only thing close to it would be trimming my ends which I will soon/eventually as I had to purchase new shears because some ppl want to use it for things other than hair..meaning damaging the integrity of the blades. My sides are growing in nicely though from it being shaved bald.
It is nice and tightly curled/koiled... shrinkage is something I tell you but hey I love it, ppl can assume that one hair isnt long or whatever. who cares.

As far as staples, I still use the same products I mentioned in previous post. My hair and scalp adores them. I only added recently is Hairobic All Naturals Scalp Rejuvenator. I actually used it today for the first time. It as all natural oils and I was just curious. After massaging it in, it did give me a tangle sensation, Not too much but enough to make you say ahhhhhhh LOL.

Whats next: I will be recoloring the red with Manic Panics Vampire red.. just for another red enhancement  next week. I will post the outcome of that. I am excited about it too. About that vampire life LOL j/k,
As always, thank you for reading... I will always love hair and anything hair related...plus I am a professional as well. So with that said. Happy Hair-ing! LOL :0)

New Years Hair

Happy 2015 everyone. Hope you all having a marvelous one.
Nothing too new on the hair mode except the fact that I looked at my desk stash, yes I have a desk just for hair and spa products LOL LOL. I looked to see what I have and I decided to retried few products to achieve a wet and go style to ring in the year.

My process: deep condition with Amazing Botanical's  Honey Condish and Natural Girl Rocks Deep SOULutions deep conditioner and I let that sit for a day with the processing cap.
On late night of Dec 30th, I cleanse my scalp and hair with WonderCurl Detoxifying Clay Cleanser. Now that truly cleaned my scalp as I massaged it in then rinsed.
I followed up with 2 of my staple products Tree Naturals Rice Flower & Shea Leave in conditioner and Kinky Curly Spiral Spritz.

What have I noticed: Yes the rumor is true about the clay cleanser that it can leave some bits after you rinse out. I learned that the first time I used the product. However, this time I really took my time and moshed it in my hands and in my hair and scalp. That really helped. This clay cleanser left my curls POPPING!! **In the picture the top 2 pics are after I washed the cleanser out, hair still wet. The bottom 2 are my hair dry**
I have also noticed that my hair is so soft and the longevity of my curls without maximum frizz is awesome.
As you can see from this pic below. Day 2-3. I did refresh with the leave in and spritz I mentioned above, Its totally cold outside and I want to make sure my hair is well moisturized.
I think I will have to make sure to keep this process in mind, it is really working for me. And yes I did condition my hair before washing/shampooing... It may sound a** backwards to some, but it works better for me in the winter months. This is the 2nd time I have deep conditioned first with the same results  > soft conditioned hair when dried. Try it and let me know your experiences. I still try different products as I am a product junkie.

I have tried another twist out which is why I had to condition/wash my hair before NYE as it was just a fail.My hair just does not prefer twist outs. I can use whatever setting product or just regular moisturizer and nawwww a big thumbs down. SO I just rock my own curls. The ONLY way I found that it works for a day is if I straighten my hair and you guys know thats a negative. I only do that once or twice a year. NO heat for me.

I am also doing my personal challenge of NO CUTTING my hair for a year.. trimming ends yes but cutting into a style..noooo. I started in November 2014, its January 2015..so far so good.
Color: hey thats a part of my life lol. Right now blue works for me. Going into my 2nd year of being blue. I was recently contemplating on going back red.. we shall see. I still use the Manic Panic line.. Love them! Anyhow, I just wanted to give a New Year update. Thanks for reading!

Questions & Answers

Why don't I wear weaves anymore? Well I believe that I have just grown out of weaves for myself. I do not hate weaves nor against them, why would I. I use to rock weaves, the weave queen so I can not say anything negative about weaves. But yes I have gotten over that stage at this time.

Will I ever wear one again?  Umm maybe, I still have my good ole Extensions Plus Relaxed Texture before they changed it up, hair in a baggie in good condition.

What about extensions? I do wear kinky twist or medium braids from time to time, usually in the summer months.

Coloring, why? I love love love color. I'm a manic panic head and that brand is vegan and semi permanent/washes out. Therefore, more safe for ones hair.

Why do I cut my hair in the style you have? Well I'm quite different, when it comes to my hair, its a way to express myself. I know also that my hair will grow back. Just something fun to do.

Did the coloring/lightening damaged your hair, are you still natural? Now this will always be a debatable one as some say no, others say yes. I have pre lighten my hair in order for my color to truly POP. My natural hair texture is STILL the same and has NOT been altered. So yes I am still natural with color. My hair is healthy, I drink water no soda. I keep it moisturized and conditioned. Basically I take care of my hair.

These where just a few questions folks that know me and some that do not know me asks. LOL

WOW it has been a while, its Fall 2014

Hello everyone, I know its been a longggg while since I last blogged and now since I am a new mama, I will try to blog more on here.
Now on to everything about HAIR. I am still natural. I have color in my hair in the front but my texture and curl pattern has NOT, EVER altered nor chemically changed.

This year I went back to my mohawk style with my sides being shaved down with blue in the front. *to get my color I used manic panic which is vegan brand. However I used Ion Lightener with no ammonia etc. to lift my hair then deposit the shocking blue and turquoise.*  It was a very fun style I must say, with many compliments. I am currently letting my sides grow back and I think I will continue on with my blue hair. I thought about going back to my red and honey color I had last year in 2013. BUTTT we shall see.

Products, products, products!!! I have had the opportunity to sign up with curl collection and those are the products I have been using in my hair. To name a few, Main Element: LOVE, My Honey Child, Coco Curls and Koils by Nature. I am currently experiencing the Koils by Nature line that I received in August.

My staples that I bought when I attending a natural hair event at Epic Curls here in Richmond, VA are part of my staple go too such as Kinky Curly, Shescentit and Tree Natural brands. I use the Leave in conditioner, Jojoba hemp conditioning shampoo and the Rice flower and shea leave in conditioner. Awesome stuff, my hair and scalp enjoys the fresh feeling. Of course with any product, what works for me may or may not work for you. Its an trial and error and I can NOT stress that enough. I been there myself years ago. its a learning process but well worth it in the long run. I personally realized that my hair and scalp prefers natural and organic products/ingredients. Which is also safer especially if your sensitive to items or even allergies.

As far as styles: even though my hair was cut in a mohawk style I was still able to where it up in a puff... updos, buns, and down and I even straighten my hair as if I didnt have shaved sides. As stated, highly fun times I had with my hair. I will post pictures to this post of course. I did have a few uncooperative hair days when my hair did not do what I wanted, and you know what I went with it. the end results was still cute.
Items I keep on my and life savers are hair pins and bobby pins, a stalking leg as a hair tie (since I have heck of a lot of hair).

Moving along, I still offer hair services in my area and advice if anyone needs it. I'm here, just shot me an email. For the products/items I mentioned above here are the websites for them.

Beginning of Summer PS

Yes its summertime end of June about to be July. I decided that to do a protective style so that I can just get up and go when needed. The style is a mixture of individuals, lace/tree individuals, tree braids and cornrows going into tree braids. The outcome is great..

As far as the timeframe to do these... due to my work schedule.. I really did not time this. However it probably took all together 10hrs DO NOT QUOTE. Hair used is Freetress GO GO curl in #30 and 1pk of 1b/27 total of 4-5pks, all used not cut. Therefore, if your looking to do a full head of med braids I suggest 8-10pks to be on the safe side if uncut as I did not cut none of the packs in half as my natural hair is longer that the length of the packs being cut in half.

Regimin: Oil my scalp with my personal oil mixture mentioned in my previous post and spray with co/h20 daily.
I'm playing on playing it up in different styles and be creative with it as my birthday is right around the corner.
